The Berea Arts Council and Berea Writers Circle will co-host readings and book signings by Kentucky women writers and artists on Saturday, April 23, from 1:30-3:30 pm, at the Berea Arts Council, 444 Chestnut Street in Berea.
The program is open to the public (masks optional) and will feature readings from the group’s recently released anthology, Coming of Age, Writing & Art by Kentucky Women over 60.
Thirty-two women writers from Kentucky – 19 from Madison County – participated in the writing project from Fall 2020 to Fall 2021.
The project began with Libby Falk Jones, poet and professor who retired from Berea College in 2017. She teamed with professor Julianne Unsel, recently returned to her Kentucky roots after a teaching career at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. The two received a grant from the Kentucky Foundation for Women to support the project.
