Learn a tried and true technique to write ekphrastic** poetry based on abstract art. You will learn the 5-step process that results in a short poem based on one of the pieces of art currently on exhibit in the gallery.

About the Instructor: Joshua Gray is the author of 6 books of poetry. Some of his favorite poems are those written to abstract art. He's led this workshop several times before, including at the Bridgewater International Poetry Festival at Bridgewater College.

*While this workshop is intended for poetry, prose writers can participate with altered techniques.

**Ekphrasis is a rhetorical device in which one medium of art tries to relate to another medium by defining and describing its essence and form.
