Exhibits 2020

“Carvings & Paintings” Tom Boyd and John Wallhausser Exhibition

March 13 - April 10

An exhibition to celebrate and honor the creative lives of two men who had a tremendous impact at Berea College and in the Berea Community. They were humanist academics but also amateur artists:  John an oil painter, and Tom a sculptor of wood. All these works have been donated to the Berea Arts Council for exhibit and sale by Joan Moore [executor of the Boyd estate] and John’s wife, Mary.  Sale of their work supports the ongoing mission of the Berea Arts Council. We thank them for their generosity.

“Global Art Project for Peace” Exhibition

March 13 - April 10

This is an exhibit of local artist's artwork created for the Global Art Project for Peace. Participants created a work of art in any medium of their choice, expressing their vision of global peace and goodwill. The art is displayed locally in each participant’s community. Global Art Project then organizes an international exchange by matching participants—group-to-group and individual-to-individual. The exchange occurs April 23 - 30 biennially, resulting in thousands of people sending messages of Peace around the world at one time— visions of unity simultaneously encircle the Earth. The art is sent as a gift of global friendship and exhibited in the receiving community. Decorated paper hands for the Let's Join Hands an on going project of the Global Art Project will also be on display.
